On the 23rd of October, at 18.35 something interesting and special happened on Titulescu street in Cluj.
It was the First Official International Dinner Party (OIDP) which took place in the residence of 8 unbelievably nice, smart and, for sure, beautiful and creative volunteers.
The program was mostly dedicated to socializing, exchanging ideas and, because it was a dinner party, also sharing recipes and a bit of experimenting with food.
Along with the volunteers, the great atmosphere was also enjoyed by coordinators from Centrul de Voluntariat, an ex-volunteer from Turkey, a guest from Italy (who paid a visit to Alberto, our Italian volunteer), mentors (and most of them are ex-EVS-volunteers) and some friends.
This time the guests and volunteers enjoyed vegetarian cuisine: Latvian traditional potato pancakes with sour cream, prepared by Chef Victoria (from Latvia) and Sebastian (Denmark); some traditional vegetables, made by Monica (Czech Rep.) and Nora (Austria), special Italian salty cake, made by Alberto.
Lea (France) had baking lesson from our nice mentors, Mona and Maria. The result was just fantastic – sweet and crunchy Papanas, it had just one disadvantage, it disappeared too fast. However the papanas faced a strong competition – Lea made tasty traditional French caramel and apple cake, which also disappeared like a dream. In the beginning of the evening, everybody had the chance to try traditional Romanian tuica.
