CVCN, partner within Creionetica initiative, together with SRC is launching a CONTEST: “What alternatives of environmental or ethical clothing do you know?”

Did you know that the most popular textile fiber in the world, cotton, is also the most harmful to the environment? Despite its reputation for being a natural and healthy fiber, cotton is “taking pride” with a huge consumption of water to reach its maturity (about 19 000 liters for 1 kilo), insecticides and pesticides (about ¼ of the global consumption) and, as if wasn’t enough, it goes around the world to make it into our wardrobes.

Therefore, we are curious to know: What environmental or ethical alternative clothing do you know? Post an article, a project, a photo or video on Facebook.com/Creionetica.ro with environmental or ethical clothing solutions to classic cotton.

Fundatia Carturesti offers the prize, James Olivers book, “Afluenza”. A renowned psychologist, Oliver James analyzes the minds of wealthy representatives of the middle class in search for an answer to the question: is it possible to be successful and stay sane at the same time?
